The company was formerly known as Shui On Construction and Materials Limited and changed its name to SOCAM Development Limited in September 2011.

The company was incorporated in 1997 and is headquartered in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. SOCAM Development Limited is a subsidiary of Shui On Land Limited.
