The company is involved in management and maintenance of inland waterways; consulting on preparation of plans and organization; regulation and control of inland waterway traffic; cargo handling; short-term accommodation services; restaurants and mobile food and beverage service activities; support services for promotion and organization of tourism tours; inland waterway pilotage; dredging and salvage of inland waterways; construction of railway and road works; massage and health-enhancing services; building of ships and floating structures; shipping agency services; inland waterway passenger transport; construction of waterways and wharves; construction of river works and tourist ports; manufacture and installation of inland waterway signals; repair and installation of sluice gates; maintenance of embankments and waterway marker posts; river regulation works; construction of industrial and civil works; repair and maintenance of transport vehicles; real estate investment; logistics; and commercial services, as well as general contract for construction and installation.

The company also manages and maintains 425.6km of the national inland waterway. DS3 Joint Stock Company was formerly known as Riverway Management Joint Stock No.3 and changed its name to DS3 Joint Stock Company in April 2023.

The company was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Quang Ninh, Vietnam.
