The company engages in the construction of agriculture and rural development infrastructure projects; residential and non-residential buildings; civil engineering works, including irrigation works, hydropower plants, pumping stations, civil works, industrial works, transportation works, technical infrastructure works, underground and underwater works, and water supply and drainage pipeline works; and technical infrastructure works, such as wastewater treatment plants, landslide prevention works, and water supply and drainage works.

It is also involved in real estate investment; site preparation; real estate business; land use rights owned, used, or leased; real estate consultancy, brokerage, and auction of real estate and land use rights; mining and quarrying of stone, sand, gravel, and clay; wholesale of iron, steel, and other metals, as well as other construction materials and installation equipment used in construction; and real estate trading activities.

The company was formerly known as Irrigation Construction Company 10 and changed its name to 40 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company in 2007.

The company was founded in 1975 and is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. 40 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company is a subsidiary of Lam Dong Investment and Hydraulic Construction Joint-Stock Company.
